Excellent characterization and connections

Build-up of Ravan's character right from the childhood is very creative and interesting. Knitting of the story around Saptasindhu, Lanka, Panchavaati and planting the ancient characters like arishtanemi, jataayu, Bali, kumbhakaran etc is very inventive. Building up till end keeps the interest alive. Typical of Amish.

MUST-READ

Unlike all his other books, this one is the Darkest and portrays every emotion we usually try to keep unlocked within ourselves. In our eyes, Raavan was always a cruel villain. But after reading it you can't help but feel sorry for him. His dark past and crumbled love life are the fuels for his villainous career. You can't help but hate Vishwamitra too. He manipulated Raavan without his knowledge. He gave him life-saving medicines as he knew if Raavan lived, he would eventually become the perfect villain for his Vishnu to defeat. You would know that Raavan is just a helpless kid who was forced into the world of villainy and unlawfulness. Bot the previous books, Ram and Sita ended with the kidnapping of Sita. This one too. But the difference is in the fact that this one ends with a life-changing revelation that keeps you biting his nails for the next book as that revelation will make you wonder if Raavan will treat Sita with respect or hatred. There is a bit of repetition in the story but it won't affect you. After all, a little repetition never harms anyone right? A must-read!
