“The word ‘love’ is most often defined as a noun, yet...we would all love better if we used it as a verb,” writes bell hooks as she comes out fighting and on fire in All AboutLove. Here, at her most provocative and intensely personal, the renowned scholar, cultural critic, and feminist skewers our view of love as romance. In its place she offers a proactive new ethic for a people and a society bereft with lovelessness. As bell hooks uses her incisive mind and razor-sharp pen to explore the question “What is love?” her answers strike at both the mind and heart. In thirteen concise chapters, hooks examines her own search for emotional connection and society’s failure to provide a model for learning to love. Razing the cultural paradigm that the ideal love is infused with sex and desire, she provides a new path to love that is sacred, redemptive, and healing for the individuals and for a nation. The Utne Reader declared bell hooks one of the “100 Visionaries Who Can Change Your Life.” All About Love is a powerful affirmation of just how profoundly she can

Non fiction

This was another one of my book club reads this month. I have never been a fan of non fiction but since this is just 150 pgs long, I thought I would give it a try.
.
I didn't find this book interesting, at times it was repetitive. Eventhough it was a small book I had to force myself to finish it. There were some quotes which I enjoyed though
. "It is far easier to talk about loss than it is to talk about love. It is easier to articulate the pain of love’s absence than to describe its presence and meaning in our lives." .

No issues with the seller and the delivery, but a horrible book

It's a sorry excuse of a book. Bought it due to all the hype from a person I follow online named Rega Jha. Usually her recommendations are good but this one just fell flat. Anyone who is here because of her recos and because they can't find the book in any store, pelase go to good reads and check out the bad reviews. They echo my thoughts exactly.

Poor Paper Quality for a price

Although the book is priced for Rs.550, i got it for Rs.449+85(85 being the delivery charge :/ ). I patiently waited for the book to be delivered after a week only to find out that the pages ar fragile and it seems that it might not be even an original copy of imprint from Harper and Collins. The cover is also thin easily to be torn off. Not satisfied with the quality and price proportion(not to mention delivery charge and time)!

Love <3

I think everyone needs to read this book, it's feel like having hot chocolate on a cool winter day! :). The ideas presented in this book are beautiful, and the print is good too.
