The Housemaid's Secret

Firstly, although this book is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. However, I recommend reading the previous one for a complete experience.

The Housemaid's Secret takes off from where we left Millie in the previous book. She is looking for a job and when she finds one where the employer, Douglas Garrick, doesn't ask her any questions, she gladly accepts it. Of course, when she learns that the wife is behind a hidden door, she does have her suspicions. But Douglas seems friendly enough and she doesn't suspect him of anything sinister until she notices blood marks in the bathroom. And knowing Millie, how could she let that go?

I had no idea how quickly time flew while reading this book. The author cleverly keeps adding details to each character and the story, exactly the kind of hook readers expect from a psychological thriller such as this. Bravo!

I especially liked how the author easily toggles between Millie's and Wendy's characteristics. The narrative was truly exceptional. With a fast pace, the story was gripping and tantalisingly thrilling!

To be honest, I liked this book better than the previous one. This one had more layers to it and the twist at the end was fantastic! I had my heart in my throat during the cabin scene and was helplessly reading what Millie would do but all I can say now is that I am relieved! Sorry guys, no spoilers here, you must read the book to know what I'm talking about.

I highly recommend The Housemaid's Secret to all psychological thriller lovers. Grab it if you haven't already!

It was a good and light read. You can easily predict what will happen next but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Go for it when you want something light.

May be not as engaging as the first one but this one is still a very good novel where you keep guessing what's next. Liked it.

This book keeps you hooked at the edge of your seat from the word go. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Would highly recommend this series!
