Ram Rajya. The Perfect Land. But perfection has a price. He paid that price. 3400 BCE. INDIA Ayodhya is weakened by divisions. A terrible war has taken its toll. The damage runs deep. The demon King of Lanka, Raavan, does not impose his rule on the defeated. He, instead, imposes his trade. Money is sucked out of the empire. The Sapt Sindhu people descend into poverty, despondency and corruption. They cry for a leader to lead them out of the morass. Little do they appreciate that the leader is among them.

A different take on the Ramayan

Interesting read. Amish really knows how to.tell a story we all think we know and yet make it different and interesting.

Everyone is a warrior..in some sense

This is an adventurous and stylish take of Ramayana retaining the principles, which makes the reader look at this tale from a new kind of lens. Usage of french words, though, sound out of context in this mythological epic of the subcontinent.

Just a few tweaks here and there

Just a few tweaks here and there was a surprise, for a fiction it's okay. However Parshuram still lives and was a part of Ram's marriage

Action Packed!!

This is something we grew up listening to. Everyone knows the story of Lord Ram, still it's so much fun to read this.

Pros:
The story does holds you till the end. The events that occurred throughout the book are described in a very grounded manner. It feels like even with Lord Ram being one of the most devoted deity, you can still relate to him, connect with that human emotion.

Cons:
At times it feels like we are rushing in order to get to the point, even though it doesn't take away the intrigue. I feel like a few characters could've more depth to them.

But Kudos to Amish for bringing this to us.
